Bloomington Cooperative Living is responsible for five homes located across Bloomington, Indiana. Rooms can range from around $400 to $900 depending on house and the quality of the room.
The monthly cost covers includes the cost of the room, utilities, food, and organization maintenance.
Goodlawn

Goodlawn (GL) is located just off of Atwater Avenue, and is a short walk from campus. This spot is ideal for students and single-room renters due to it’s proximity to campus. There are 10 rooms and 1 suite.
Which House
Which House
630 East Atwater Avenue, Bloomington, Indiana
Which House (WH) is located directly on Atwater Avenue, just south of campus and a short walk to downtown Bloomington. Similar to GL, WH is ideal for students and single-room renters.
The house has 13 rooms (lucky us!), with three bathrooms, a kitchen and a kitchenette.
Middle Earth
404 West Kirkwood Avenue, Bloomington, Indiana
Middle Earth (ME) can be found to the west of Bloomington’s downtown square, just a block away from Bloomingfoods West and neighbor to the Salt Cave.
Our largest house, ME has 20 rooms, multiple communal spaces, 4.5 bathrooms, and a large first floor kitchen.
Mercury
410 West Kirkwood Avenue, Bloomington, Indiana
Formerly known as Project 410, Mercury is the newest member of BCL! Sharing an alley with ME and local bookstore Redbud Books, Mercury hosts 12 rooms, 3 bathrooms, and a large combined kitchen/living room space.
Trellis
921 West 9th Street, Bloomington, Indiana
The Trellis is directly across from Butler Park and a short five-minute bike ride to Bloomington’s downtown square.
The second largest of our organization, the Trellis has 18 bedrooms among its suites and single rooms. The suites are a great fit for single parents or small families looking for affordable housing close to town, and each suite includes a private bathroom and living area. There is a large kitchen for each floor of the house.
